February/March 2015 Wall Street Journal Book Club Pick

* A National Book Award Finalist

Through early March of this year, the WSJ Book club will be reading Dogeaters by Jessica Hagedorn. It is an intense and entertaining story about the lives of different people living in the Philippines under the regime of Ferdinand Marcos. Perhaps it will be a good choice for your book club or just to read on your own.  You can leave your comments about the book on the WSJ Facebook page or on Twitter. It is available for downloading from the library website now. There is no need to place a book on hold when it is available all of the time on the Freading database.

"As sharp and fast as a street boy's razor"
-The New York Times Book Review

This is a novel about the death of the good life of the soul: of all virtue, meaning, and hope. Exceptionally well written and emotionally wrenching. Recommended.
